The 2010 edition of the legendary 24h race in Spa-Francorchamps began very promising for Team Phoenix. Both R8 LMS occupied the second row overall, and the frontrow in the GT3 class after three qualifyings till late thursday evening. From the beginning of the race, both cars were fighting for class and overall lead. All went well until the night came and the #50 R8 was crashed out of the race by a already lapped car. As if this wasn't enough the sister car with the #51 and Andrea Piccini at the wheel suffered a blown tire and fatally crashed out of the race in Eau Rouge. Let's hope for better luck in 2011!
Beginning with small stickers on the car, my support for the Petrolhead Racing Team expanded to a big sponsorship. The opportunity of a media presence in this dimension is unexampled for me so far. In cooperation with Xavier Lamadrid, I developed some sponsor layouts for his sponsor search which finally led to the look the car has now. My logos will remain on the car during all the races of the VLN in July. For the future, we plan to work even more together. I am really looking forward to further enhance this collaboration!
